DeAngela S. Reid is by no means your average girl. She is much more than that—she is the Most Optimistic Realist Ever! She is an accomplished author, poet, entrepreneur, and an inspirational voice to the masses. She considers herself as a teacher in life’s classroom and a mentor to young adults, using her own life experiences to help single parents, people struggling with low self-esteem, and those who are single. She takes pleasure in offering sound advice to individuals needing guidance.
In 1998, DeAngela penned her first poem, and in 2005, she published a collection of her favorite poems in her first book, A Joyful Christian. She possesses a unique ability to comprehend various perspectives in different situations, allowing her to offer help, advise, moderate and maintain peace. Her empathetic nature also enabled her to compose personalized poems for all occasions, which gave birth to her company, Sweet P.E.A.
(Sweet Personalized Expressions of Affection).
DeAngela has worked as an Administrative Professional in various industries for nearly 30 years. She has been an active member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church and its choir, the Inspirational Voices for over 20 years. She has also recorded music with the Georgia Mass Choir, sung in background choirs for various performances, events, or recordings with artists such as John Legend, Common, Sounds of Blackness, CeCe Winans, and Lucinda Moore. Her greatest accomplishment, however, is raising her three children (two sons and one daughter) to be decent human beings.
DeAngela is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where she currently resides with her family. In October 2022, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment with the hope of making a full recovery. Despite her diagnosis, she remains a warrior, trusting in God for healing and strength.
